Sunday Morning Shenanigans...

Hunter has had a front wiggly tooth for a long time and Hallie has had a wiggly tooth for a few weeks now. And I don't do wiggly teeth. I don't like to watch them wiggle and I sure don't like to witness them falling/being pulled out. But my kids love to show me how they wiggle their teeth and then giggle when I turn in disgust.

I thought for sure yesterday Hunter was going to let Steve pull his tooth, but upon further inspection Steve told him it needed some more time and he needed to keep working on it. Hallie had her tooth inspected as well and Steve gave the same advice. I woke up this morning hearing Steve telling both kids they needed to be more strategic in their wiggling. "You can't just wiggle it. Push it all the way one direction until it starts to hurt and then stop. Then push it the other direction until it starts to hurt. Then stop. Keep working on it." Makes me squirm just thinking of how to get a tooth to fall out!

As I started getting ready for church there was urgent pounding on my door. I heard Hunter yell, "Mom, I lost my tooth!" Knowing very well what he meant, I played with him for a second. "Where did you lose it at? I'll help you find it in just a minute, hang tight." "NO MOM! I KNOW WHERE MY TOOTH, ITS IN MY HAND." I chuckled and then opened the door to find him as excited as could be. He got it out without anyone helping him.

Hunter's excitement was contagious and Hallie wanted her tooth out as well. She was convinced she wanted Steve to pull it when he got home from meetings. She worked on it for a while - I know because I found a trail of bloody kleenex to document every room she spent time in! Dressed in her church clothes, finishing lunch and getting ready to walk out the door, Hallie came to me as proud as could be holding her tooth.

Two kids, two teeth, both in church clothes. We had some excited kids at church - until they realized we only have one tooth fairy pillow!!
