(You'll rarely see a photo of me on this blog because I'm the one constantly behind the camera - but every few years we'll hire a photographer to shoot a family picture!)
Welcome! I'm Kara. I'm a stay at home mom and absolutely love it when people assume that because I stay home I don't work. Trust me - its work. I have four kids (clearly we need an updated family picture!) and there are many days where going to an office job seems like a dream. My husband would argue that an office job isn't the dream - which just goes to show the grass isn't always greener on the other side. And although changing diapers and cleaning up spilled milk...again...isn't what I looked forward to as a young child, I am pleasantly surprised with the enjoyment I find in my role as a wife and mother.
I cook and clean to please my husband and children - I design, create, photograph, and build furniture to please myself (which my family greatly benefits from). I've found a way to blend both worlds and keep every one relatively happy and so far keep every one alive. That is success in my book.
This blog follows our journey through parenthood and my passion for a new project and taking matters into my own hands when it comes to updating our home.
Thank you so much for your design of the Come Unto Christ theme. I am sure your family keeps you busy and yet you still find time to share your talents. I am using it tonight for our Stake YW presentation for the new theme in San Diego CA. You are sending "Good Things" out into the world. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI have that dream some day! Way to get it all together!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Some days we've got it and some days those dreams are distant!
DeleteHi Kara,
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind me blogging on here but I loved the geometric curtains that you posted on Pinterest and was wondering if you knew the name of the fabric as they don't seem to sell it on the site that you bought it 2 years ago.
TIA. Julia
Kara, I haven't been here for a while and just stopped by today. Still think you're awesome. You're my inspiration in so many things; too bad I live in another country. Thanks for sharing your talent and brilliant ideias with us. BTW now I'm a mother of 5 too, and your text above remains as true for me as it was in 2014 when I found your blog. "and there are many days where going to an office job seems like a dream" LOL =D Best of luck with your new baby. You rock! From Campinas, SP, Brazil
ReplyDeleteThank you!
