We were young and in love and now we're older and even more in love but with much more understanding and compassion than when we started out - not to mention 4.5 kids added to the mix. I look at this picture and I see growth, development and change. We are not those people anymore - and that's a good thing. Time has given us the opportunity to become more aligned with each other; which has strengthened our relationship and pushed us to be more selfless. I chose well!

A Different Anniversary Celebration...
While anniversaries for most include flowers and a fancy dinner, we just our 11th anniversary in the most unique way.
We went to lunch at a fun hipster place downtown Tempe. Steve was tight lipped what our activity was for the afternoon despite my desperate pleas to know because I'm not huge on surprises.
We drove to a location that was somewhat unmarked and unfamiliar. Even after reading the business name on the house I still had no clue what we were doing there.
The lady greeted him by name and locked the door behind us. A tad scary.
We walked through the house to the side yard where she introduced us to our private welding class. WELDING! I would've never guessed in a million years this would be the way we would spend our anniversary and yet at the same time I kept thinking, this is the coolest thing ever. I seriously have the best husband ever. I can brag right? He knows me. He knows that sitting through a movie would be painful. Fancy dinners are not my thing and I would rather have a new album than flowers.
11 years and he knows what makes me tick. I've been trying to figure out how to introduce metal into my furniture building hobby and he listened. He wanted me to try welding to see if that's something I could use in my projects.
I was a very happy wife...let me clarify: I am a very happy wife. I think he enjoyed it too! We're not experts, but we learned the basics and it was useful to have some hands on experience. We'll call them our "love trees".
World's best husband right there!
