So while we were in Idaho I suggested we go to the local pumpkin patch and I'm so glad we didn't miss out on it this year. The weather we beautiful, even a little warm. There was a trailer that took us out to the pumpkin patch, we made our selections from a wide variety of pumpkins and colors. I love the colors. So bright and vibrant. What's even better than the color is the texture. I love the pumpkins with really deep grooves, the pumpkins with warts, pumpkins with really curly, thick stems. I love it all...that is besides carving them. Call me crazy but I'm not a fan of carving. I would rather take a can of paint and go to town on it. But for some reason it seems highly un-American if you don't carve. So out of tradition and obligation we spent the next morning carving. I give Steve serious props for his very creative idea for his pumpkin. Until next year...
