Wall easel...

We bought Hallie an easel a couple years back that the kids loved. Sadly enough, it was one of the few pieces of wood furniture that didn't survive the flood just a year ago. It was a toy the kids played with a lot so I looked to replace it. Of course, PB Kids didn't sell the same one anymore and I couldn't find one I was totally in love with. Easels take up a lot of floor space and seeing as though we don't currently have our own home, I started looking at other options. Both PB Kids and Ballard Designs had a cool wall easel that was ridiculously overpriced. (Especially because you know it's going to be covered in crayon and marker in such a short amount of time!)

My wheels started turning.

I could make a wall easel, right? They can't be too difficult. I started taking measurements, and drawing up some plans and before long, I found myself at home depot purchasing my wood. (I made this project 8 months pregnant, I was clearly nesting!)

As I started to build it, I altered the plans slightly and then I altered them again when I was nearly finished due to the paper roll fitting a tad too snug. (Measure, measure, measure) But even with several alterations, this was a quick, easy and inexpensive project. The roll of paper cost nearly all the wood combined. It turned out just as I envisioned. Now if only I could find a home to hang it in...
