Lifetime friends...

We've been fortunate to make friends with some amazing people throughout our journeys over the past several years. We found them in college, we found them in Milwaukee and we're finding them in Arizona. They are the friends that you can live apart from and see once every two years or even longer and still enjoy every minute together.

We were going to my family reunion when we passed through town the same time our friends were passing through town. We made a quick 30 minute stop to remind our children of their once surrogate family. The family we spent Christmas Eve with, birthday parties, baby blessings, 4th of July and everything in between. Our kids refer to them as cousins. We refer to them as cousins. They're family. Our children conveniently line up age-wise with their three youngest. Fortunately, our youngest are the opposite sex and we have high hopes of a relationship in their future.

  4. Kara! So glad that you left a comment. I was just telling Leslie on our trip to Kentucky that I ran on to your blog, and how fantastic it is! You have a gift when it comes to both photography and words! I mentioned to her that one of these days I would leave a comment on it, and now you have beat me to it! Your kids are so adorable, both their little faces, and their little personalities! I will be sure to keep up to date with your posts, because you are always up to something interesting! Thanks again for saying hi!
