Crazy Dream...

A while back I referenced my crazy dreams that I always seem to remember. (here) I really should keep a blog just for my dreams, they are that extensive. Most hold little value but I always find them interesting. After our scorpion hunt last week you can imagine what my dreams held for me!

For the whole week following the hunt I was slightly paranoid. I kept the blacklight in my bedroom and I would scan the sheets with the light before I hopped in for the night. My efforts turned up nothing of value - no scorpions - which was quite the relief. However, one evening I was brushing my teeth while sitting on the edge of the jacuzzi tub. I heard something odd and I quickly turned around to find a large scorpion circling the tub trying to get out. I freaked out. I Grabbed a shoe from the closet and ended it's creepy life. Full panic mode set in and I took the blacklight to the whole lower level of our house. I found nothing. Which made me feel better but I was still a little freaked out.

Of course, my dreams like to play tricks on me and the whole evening I dreamt of scorpions. At one point I awoke from my dreams. The room was dark with the ceiling fan circling above and that is when I saw the scorpion on the ceiling. In fact, there was more than one. It was a cluster of 15 or more, with another cluster across the room by the curtains. I was fully awake, but clearly still living in dreamland as I contemplated how in the world I was going to kill them all. I sat there for a good three minutes paralyzed by the vast amount of scorpions covering my walls.

Then it hit me. I had the blacklight on my nightstand. I quickly grabbed it, turned it on and started scanning the walls. Nothing. Not one scorpion. After I felt a little safer I was able to get out of bed and look around. Nothing. Dang my dreams.

It was seriously as real as anything at that moment and I was fully aware of what was going on around me. If I had been able to go back to sleep and enjoy a full nights rest that would've been wonderful. But wouldn't you know it, I had the same dream two times in one night. Yes, I got out of bed two times in one night with my blacklight in hand scanning my walls covered in scorpions.

You can see why I wake up exhausted most mornings, my dreams take everything out of me!
