To say I enjoy camping would be a gross overstatement. With the right group of friends, I've been known to enjoy a sleepless night or two in a tent but it's definitely not something I seek out.
I just returned from Stake girls camp last week and had a great time - I also came to the realization the camping in cabins is much more enjoyable than tents and these girls don't know how good they have it!
I served as the stake photographer but I slept in a cabin with my ward and there was never a dull moment.
The weather served us well and it was much cooler (in the 80s) than the valley heat we're used to. One afternoon a storm rolled in and in no time there were large rivers running through the camp. Girls were dancing and splashing and even washing their hair in the rain.
It's been years since I've been to camp but I was reminded just how great it is. There are so many aspects of camp that teach and train these girls. They try things they haven't done before (zip-line and archery), they learn practical skill sets, they make new friends, they teach and lead one another and strengthen their testimonies.
There are so many people that work to make events like this successful and it is so much work - but so worth it. So grateful for this group that I was able to spend time with, joke with and play pranks with. Like I said before - there was rarely a dull moment.
