At home...

Some days being a stay-at-home mom totally bites. Kids constantly fighting and endless amounts of laundry to fold and dishes to wash. But often times I find total contentment in the process of being a mom. Call me crazy, but my favorite days of being a mom are the days that I don't have to leave the house. No errands, no lessons, no playdates, no doctors, no appointments, no carpools, nothing...they are my absolute favorite days. Yesterday happened to be one of those days.

I spent the morning cleaning and playing with Mr. B (Hunter was at preschool, in which I didn't have to drive). photo 20130904-DSC_4252.jpg photo 20130904-DSC_4245.jpg Hunter came home and decided he wanted leftover pasta from the night before with a breadstick and an oreo cookie for lunch. Bennett had the same. photo 20130904-DSC_4236.jpg After lunch it was naptime for Bennett and quiet time for Hunter. I look forward to this time of day most every day! Hunter alternates between a few quiet activities but mostly he likes legos. I went up to his room to chat with him while he was playing legos and he wasn't there. I walked back downstairs to the playroom and he wasn't there. I started to frantically search the house - I found him tucked behind Hallie's bed quietly playing with her legos. photo 20130904-DSC_4265.jpg photo 20130904-DSC_4264.jpg I came back downstairs and sat on the couch in hopes of relieving my swollen and puffy pregnant feet. The thought crossed my mind - there is no doubt I am meant to be in the home. I love being home and I love my home (as messy and unfinished as it often is). I was more than pleased with our simple non-rushed day. I love days like this.
