My mom has a bucket of little people that we used to play with when we were kids (I can use the word vintage when referring to a toy from my childhood, right?!) There's a few with the wooden bodies, but the majority of them are plastic. I remember when Hallie was just starting to take interest in toys, I went to the store to pick up one of these sets. To my surprise - none of them looked like the ones from my childhood. They got all fancy with detailed faces and clothing and came as a part of elaborate sets. I just wanted the simple body people back, but safety concerns have banned that design forever!
Bennett pulled the bucket out while we were visiting and I seemed to know each little piece by memory. They seem to be the toy that can never be destroyed with several kids and now grandkids being entertained by them.
The train has always been a favorite - locking animals (and people) within the lion car and using the airy horn for sound effects.
Every day, he would dump out the bucket and play with the contents only to clean it up a long while later - the next day the bucket would be dumped again. I've now got my eye out for the vintage playsets!
