As a mother, this picture speaks volumes to me about my two little boys and the stage that they're in. They remind me a little of Tigger and Pooh Bear. Hunter is the energetic and slightly irresponsible one who tends to find situations that get him in trouble. He's confident and resourceful and often mispronounces his words. Mr. B on the other hand is a little more reserved, but trusts Hunter full-heartedly even if it gets him in trouble too. He's obviously younger and very unaware of what is going on around him, but he's happy-go-lucky. He is easily distracted by food - and spends most of his day wanting more food!
There are times when they are inseparable (most mornings, especially as Hunter gets ready to go to preschool) and then there's other times when they can't even be around each other. It drives Hunter crazy how careless Bennett is with his precious lego creations and of course Bennett has no clue what made Hunter so mad. On the flip side, the phrase "taking candy from a baby" holds no water with Bennett and if someone even thinks about taking one of his goldfish he will fight to the bitter end.
It warms my heart when I overhear Hunter talking with Bennett as he explains different things or coaches him on how to play together. They've got a lot of years ahead of them and I'm happy they have each other.
This picture reminds me of this quote from Winnie the Pooh:
"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you." -Christopher Robin-
