We wore the kids out this weekend. We had two events on our pogo pass expiring this weekend so we took advantage.
Friday night was a diamondbacks game. I counted myself out around 4 o'clock when Cannon hadn't slept all day. Steve would take the kids and have a great time. After dinner as I ushered them out the door, Steve said he would hold Cannon the entire night at the game and suddenly I was in again. I spent two minutes gathering stuff and got in the car. One minute later I was getting out of the car with Cannon and Hunter who had a stomachache and wasn't sure if he was going to throw up.
We played it safe and I stayed home with the two.
Steve knows the drill - if he goes some place without me he must send pictures periodically throughout the night. He had met up with friends at the game including Bennett's BFF Anna.
Steve was reminded just how much he loves baseball games - and also that taking kids to games is a lot of work!
The next day we went to the local waterpark for it's last day of the season. We left the youngest two with a babysitter so we could enjoy the park in all its height restriction glory. I told Hallie I was excited to go and she said, "But you don't even like doing things like this."
I was shocked. Seriously?! "What do you mean I don't like things like this?!"
"Well you never usually do it."
"That's because I'm usually with the younger kids while dad goes with you!"
We. Had. Fun. We were there when the park opened and there were no lines. We went on ride after ride after ride. And we would've done that all day long, but it is tiring carrying those four person tubes up several flights of stairs!
I think I proved to Hallie I know how to have fun when I don't have a baby attached to me. Moms just don't get any credit!
There was only one ride I didn't go on - Hunter wasn't tall enough and I could do without water rushing up my noise for several seconds. Steve and Hallie went a couple times.
